The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is a 4-year undergraduate program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences, healthcare, and patient counseling. Educational Qualification
Applicants must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects. English should also be included as one of the core subjects.
Minimum Marks Requirement
Students must secure at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, a relaxation of 5% is provided as per government norms.
Entrance Examination
Admission to the B.Pharm program is conducted through UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling). The selection process is based on performance in entrance examinations such as CUET-UG or equivalent, followed by counselling.
Counselling & Seat Allotment
Eligible candidates must take part in the official UPTAC counselling, choose CSS Pharmacy College as their preferred option, and complete the seat allotment and reporting procedures.
Age Requirement
The minimum age for admission is 17 years as on 31st December of the admission year. There is generally no upper age limit, subject to government guidelines.
Lateral Entry Provision
Students who have successfully completed a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from a PCI-approved institution may be admitted directly into the second year of B.Pharm under lateral entry rules.
Medical Fitness
All applicants must be medically fit as per the standards prescribed by the regulatory bodies to participate in laboratory sessions and professional training.
Pharmaceutical Industry
Graduates can work in production, quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory affairs within pharmaceutical and biopharma companies. This is one of the most sought-after career paths.
Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy
B.Pharm graduates are eligible to serve as pharmacists in hospitals, clinics, and healthcare centers, assisting in drug dispensing, patient counseling, and healthcare management.
Research & Development
Opportunities exist in drug discovery, formulation development, and clinical trials. Many graduates join R&D divisions of leading pharmaceutical companies or pursue higher research degrees.
