The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) is a 2-year program designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical sciences. At CSS Pharmacy College, the course emphasizes practical training, patient care, and community service, preparing students to serve as frontline healthcare professionals.

Students are trained in drug formulation, dispensing, dosage calculations, pharmacology basics, and pharmacy law. This program enables diploma holders to build careers in community pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, and healthcare centers, or pursue higher studies such as B.Pharm through lateral entry.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects. English should also be included.

Minimum Marks Requirement

A minimum of 45–50% aggregate marks is required in the qualifying examination. Relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per state government norms.

Admission Process

Admission to D.Pharm is conducted through the JEECUP (Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh) counselling process. Eligible candidates must register, appear for the exam, and participate in seat allotment.

Counselling & Seat Allotment

Students who qualify JEECUP must choose CSS Pharmacy College during counselling and complete the seat confirmation and admission formalities.

Age Requirement

The minimum age for admission is 17 years at the time of admission, as per PCI and government guidelines.

Medical Fitness

Candidates must be medically fit, fulfilling the requirements for laboratory training and healthcare-related tasks.

Community & Retail Pharmacy

D. Pharm diploma holders can work in medical stores, retail pharmacies, and community pharmacies, dispensing medicines and counseling patients on their safe and proper use.

Hospital Pharmacy

Diploma holders may serve in hospital pharmacies, managing prescriptions, assisting doctors, and ensuring accurate drug administration to patients.

Pharmaceutical Industry Support Roles

Opportunities are available in production, packaging, quality control, and sales departments of pharmaceutical companies for qualified diploma holders.

Higher Studies

Students can pursue B. Pharm through lateral entry (direct admission in 2nd year) to continue their academic and professional journey.

Government Sector Jobs

D. Pharm holders are eligible for posts such as Pharmacist in government hospitals, dispensaries, and health departments after qualifying relevant exams.

Entrepreneurship

Diploma holders may start their own licensed medical stores or wholesale drug businesses, contributing to local healthcare delivery.
