Rules & Regulations

Discipline on Campus
Students are expected to maintain high standards of discipline and respectful behavior at all times within the college premises. Courtesy towards faculty, staff, and fellow students is a must. Any form of misconduct, indiscipline, or ragging is strictly prohibited and will invite severe disciplinary action as per university and government guidelines. The institution strongly promotes a culture of harmony, cooperation, and responsibility among its students.

Attendance Requirement
Regularity in academics is essential. Every student is required to maintain at least 75% attendance in both theory and practical classes. Attendance below the prescribed limit may lead to disqualification from appearing in university examinations. Punctuality in lectures, laboratory sessions, seminars, and tutorials is also emphasized to build a disciplined learning environment.

Dress Code and Identity
Students must follow the prescribed uniform and laboratory dress code, which includes wearing lab coats during practical classes. A valid college identity card must be carried at all times on campus and presented whenever required. Adherence to these rules helps maintain professionalism and ensures safety in practical sessions.

Use of College Property
The infrastructure of the college, including laboratories, classrooms, library, hostels, and other facilities, must be used responsibly. Students are expected to treat all equipment and property with care. Any damage, intentional or due to negligence, will be considered a violation of rules and may result in penalties or disciplinary measures.

Library and Laboratory Guidelines
Silence and discipline must be observed in the library to maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning. Books, journals, and digital resources should be handled with care and returned within the stipulated time. In laboratories, students are expected to strictly follow safety instructions and guidelines, wear protective clothing, and handle chemicals or instruments carefully to avoid accidents.

Hostel Regulations
Students residing in hostels must abide by hostel timings, maintain cleanliness, and observe discipline. Unauthorized entry of guests, late-night movements without permission, or involvement in activities that disturb others will not be tolerated. Hostel life is designed to promote community living, and residents are expected to cooperate and contribute to a safe and supportive environment.

Prohibited Activities
The consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any form of intoxicants within the campus or hostels is strictly banned. Similarly, gambling, violent behavior, or any unlawful activity will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Students are expected to uphold the values and ethics of the institution.

Examination Rules
Students must follow all university and college examination regulations, including prescribed dress codes, punctuality, and honesty in answering papers. The use of unfair means, cheating, or helping others in malpractice will result in immediate disciplinary action, which may include cancellation of results and further penalties as per university norms.

Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations.

Attendance and Progress
A candidate is required to put in at least 80% attendance in individual courses considering theory and practical separately. The candidate shall complete the prescribed course satisfactorily to be eligible to appear for the respective examinations.

Program/Course Credit Structure
As per the philosophy of the Credit Based Semester System (CBCS), certain quantum of academic work viz. theory classes, tutorial hours, practical classes, etc. are measured in terms of credits. On satisfactory completion of the courses, a candidate earns credits. The amount of credit associated with a course is dependent upon the number of hours of instruction per week in that course. Similarly, the credit associated with any of the other academic, co/extra-curricular activities is dependent upon the quantum of work expected to be put in for each of these activities per week.

Credit Assignment
Courses are broadly classified as Theory and Practical. Theory courses consist of lecture (L) and/or tutorial (T) hours, and Practical (P) courses consist of hours spent in the laboratory. Credits (C) for a course are dependent on the number of hours of instruction per week in that course, and are obtained by using a multiplier of one (1) for lecture and tutorial hours, and a multiplier of half (½) for practical (laboratory) hours.

Example: A theory course having three lectures and one tutorial per week throughout the semester carries a credit of 4. Similarly, a practical having four laboratory hours per week throughout the semester carries a credit of 2.

Minimum Credit Requirements
The minimum credit points required for award of a B. Pharm. degree is 208. These credits are divided into Theory courses, Tutorials, Practical, Practice School, and Project over the duration of eight semesters. The credits are distributed semester-wise as shown in Table IX.

Courses generally progress in sequences, building competencies, and their positioning indicates certain academic maturity on the part of the learners. Learners are expected to follow the semester-wise schedule of courses given in the syllabus.

The lateral entry students shall get 52 credit points transferred from their D. Pharm program. Such students shall take up additional remedial courses of Communication Skills (Theory and Practical) and Computer Applications in Pharmacy (Theory and Practical) equivalent to 3 and 4 credit points respectively, a total of 7 credit points to attain 59 credit points, the maximum of I and II semesters.

Academic Work
A regular record of attendance both in Theory and Practical shall be maintained by the teaching staff of respective courses.
